Last year during a monthly self exam I found a lump on my breast. Since it was very high on the chest wall, had I not done this exam a mammogram never would have found it. I chose to walk and raise this money so someday we will have an exam that will be able to diagnose all of the breast tissue. Although it turned out to be a cyst it certainly made me wonder how many are missed before it is too late.

I also work in a styling salon and am surrounded by women each day. I have listened to their stories and realized how much this touches all of us every day. One such person is my walking partner, her mother is battleing breast cancer right now and because of a technicality is no longer on her health insurance. I am hoping that my walking will make life and her struggle easier for her through new treatment and financial assistance.
